Getting Started

Normally, birds will arrive at your local post office in 1-3 days depending on where you live. Your local post office should call to inform you that your pullets have arrived. Try to pick them up as quickly as possible since they have been in route from 1-3 days and need to be settled into their new home. We will send you an email with a tracking number, of when your pullets are expected to arrive.

Once you settle them into their new home, add ¼ cup of Karo corn syrup to a gallon of water. This will enter the birds blood stream rapidly and give them strength if they’re weak from the trip or give them some electrolytes from your local feed store. We send them with 1/6th of an apple as a snack for the trip. You can feed them a 16% to 18% layer pellet or crumble and if you mix some scratch grain that would be a treat. All our pullets free range on our farm for health and vigor, but if predators are a problem in your area that might not be possible for you. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us.
